North Carolina Central University, a top-ranking southern regional university and historically black university, is located in Durham adjacent to Research Triangle Park.? NCCU selected the following categories to “Prioritize” from the Strategic Plan: low-income completions; rural completions; five-year graduation rates; undergraduate degree efficiency; and achievement gaps in undergraduate degree efficiency.
Historically Minority-Serving Institution
The UNC System Board of Governors created a special Committee on Historically Minority-Serving Institutions in 2018 to study and assess six institutions’ unique challenges and promising opportunities. The goal of the committee is to create strategies that will ensure these institutions’ future growth by promoting investments, opportunities, and awareness throughout the state.
